SodaStream X EcoTrail Paris: when ecology rhymes with sport!

Faced with the ecological emergency, we need to find solutions that enable consumers to reconcile responsibility and pleasure. Because even if consumers want to save the planet, they also want to maintain their level of comfort. An exciting challenge for companies in all sectors, including sports!

The environmental issue in the world of sports competitions is now at the heart of the sector's transformation. Many sporting events are putting an end to the free distribution of plastic water bottles to reduce waste.

Among the alternatives considered, a number of simple solutions are emerging - the use of water fountains, sparkling water machines, distribution of water bottles and/or reusable cups - all of which help to reduce the use of plastic at these events, and therefore reduce waste.

For its part, EcoTrail Paris has chosen to provide fizzy drink machines at the feed stations, so that runners can hydrate with a fizzy drink throughout the race.

Today, thanks to the EcoTrail Paris, SodaStream is extending its environmental mission beyond the home, to the outside world and the world of sport: an eco-responsible collaboration that takes on its full meaning and legitimacy.

For this new 2023 edition, SodaStream will provide 42 machines at all the race's refreshment points, combined with reusable bottles and exchangeable gas refills. Runners will thus be able to hydrate themselves with sparkling water and/or flavored drinks thanks to the concentrates and syrups offered by the brand, without generating single-use plastic.

The entire volunteer team will also receive a gourd as a thank-you for their commitment.

This new event is proof that sport and ecology can go hand in hand. The approach adopted by the EcoTrail Paris is inspiring, innovative and a real example for many other events to follow.
