EcoTrail Paris® and MAIF join forces to promote eco-responsible sport
The EcoTrail Paris is delighted to announce a major new partner for its 14th edition on July 3 and 4. In association with a number of sporting and ecological players in France, MAIF is committed to supporting us in our efforts to develop a sporting practice that is more respectful of the planet.
Let's respect the wonderful playground that Paris and its surroundings offer us. Today, the general public has become aware of the importance of preserving the planet through concrete, sustainable actions. This can be achieved in our daily lives by sorting waste, using short distribution channels or reducing our energy consumption, but also by raising collective awareness through events such as the EcoTrail Paris. Since the event's creation in 2008, eco-responsibility has always been at the heart of the founders' concerns. These values are also shared by MAIF, the militant insurer.
The strength of a shared commitment
As part of its 14th edition, the EcoTrail Paris is pleased and proud to announce the official signing of a partnership between the two entities. The event, a pioneer in sustainable development in the Paris region, is delighted to obtain the support of a group of this dimension. In this particular and uncertain context for events professionals due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the mutual insurance company naturally confirmed its commitment.
" This partnership adds a new dimension to the EcoTrail Paris. We're delighted to be able to work with a company like MAIF. Our two entities share the same values and ambitions in favor of eco-responsibility. This association will enable us to take a step forward in our development and deploy new actions", assures Jérôme Toulouse, race director.
MAIF commits to a more respectful sport
A real bond of trust has thus been created between the two organizations, eager to work hand in hand. Through this collaboration, the insurer of private individuals and professionals wishes to get involved and support players in the world of sport in organizing events that are increasingly responsible and respectful of the environment. " Fully aware of the challenges of our time, we believe that everyone can become an agent of change through sport, and thus contribute to the positive transformation of society", assures Dominique Mahé, Chairman of the MAIF Group. The group will support the organizing team in its efforts to raise awareness of this eco-responsibility approach, by implementing concrete actions both before and during the race weekend.
1st "Sport-Planet" event
The EcoTrail Paris will be MAIF's first "Sport Planète" event. The program will be launched in 2020, with the aim of raising awareness among as many people as possible and training generations of young, responsible sportsmen and women. The program aims to develop a circle of respectable actions around three priorities: helping sports organizations to manage their eco-responsibility; encouraging the training of sports professionals in the adoption of best practices; and raising awareness among the general public via projects led by inspiring eco-adventurers. "The "MAIF Sport Planète" program we are deploying today is based on the deep conviction that we can all act for the common good. With this commitment program, we want to break down barriers to federate and encourage synergies around sport and its key players, via events, guides or even partnerships that make sport and eco-responsibility coincide. This virtuous 'marriage' represents a new way of life to be adopted in the long term, and I'm convinced that MAIF will play its part to the full," says the Chairman of the MAIF Group.
Eco-responsible commitments
By joining the Sport Planète scheme, the EcoTrail Paris reaffirms its determination to continue innovating in terms of eco-responsibility. Commitments already include responsible food and refreshment purchases, waste recycling, sustainable transport, preserving biodiversity, promoting local heritage and reducing environmental impact. These are all strong measures to which the organizers have been committed since the creation of the event. In a series of articles, we'll be taking a closer look at our ecological initiatives in the run-up to the start of the race. New and ever more innovative initiatives will be launched for this 14th edition of the race, with the aim of making it cleaner and more responsible. The practice of sport is a formidable vector for mobilization. And in the end, it's always the planet that wins...

The quest for the common good and sincere attention to others and the world are at the heart of the raison d'être of MAIF, which became a mission-driven company in 2020. Convinced that sport is a formidable vehicle for raising awareness, the mutual insurance company is today deploying the MAIF Sport Planète scheme, a set of actions and resources available to the sporting ecosystem throughout the year, helping to motivate as many people as possible to make a collective commitment to preserving the planet.
