La Ferme Charcutière, responsible and reasoned production
Local, organic and tasty refreshments. For this 2022 edition, the EcoTrail Paris is mobilizing to offer runners an increasingly responsible diet along the route. Through this series of articles, we have chosen to highlight producers and their eco-responsible commitment.
Quality pork on the farm
From the fields to the food court! Located in Epégard, a small village in the heart of Normandy, Ferme Charcutière offers seasonal produce in a short supply chain. Authenticity and quality are the watchwords of Eric Bellenguez, who has been running the farm since 2009. The Normandy-based producer offers pork and charcuterie, entirely cut and processed in his on-farm laboratory. These products come from his traditional pig farm, fed with cereals harvested on the estate. The company is strongly committed to sustainable agriculture. "Our farm is based in Normandy, in the department of Eure. The short circuit is our specificity. From breeding to sales, everything takes place on the farm. There is only one intermediary, for reasons of hygiene and health standards, the slaughterhouse located just 5km from the estate. We produce all our products on the farm, growing the cereals, raising the pigs and processing them. We have a team of 3 charcutiers on site", explains David Allais, communications manager at Ferme Charcutière.
100% local sausage at the refreshment stand
Charcuterie, fresh meats and cooked products (trippe, boudins, etc.) are prepared on the premises. A wide range of authentic-tasting artisanal products made to traditional Norman recipes. Products made from natural, preservative-free casings. La Ferme Charcutière thus guarantees consumers perfect traceability and total transparency from field to market. Eco-responsible values and commitments shared by EcoTrail Paris. To broaden the range of refreshments on offer for the 2022 event, the organizers will also be offering savoury items, including sausages produced on the farm. Around 80kg will be on offer at the feed zones along all the routes. "Commitment to sport is nothing new for Ferme Charcutière. We are perfectly in tune with the values developed by the EcoTrail Paris. We respect the environment with our short circuit approach. We work with seasonal produce in-house and without imports. This will be our first collaboration this year, which we'd like to continue for years to come. "
Charcuterie to recharge the batteries
Thanks to its taste and nutritional value, the sausage is sure to give all participants a boost. "Charcuterie is not a bad product for athletes. Pork meat has many advantages. It's a source of protein with nutritional values ideal for long distances. It gives the athlete a boost during his or her effort." Back again for this 2022 edition, the sausage should satisfy and delight the taste buds of many male and female runners.
